While we get all kinds of questions at Rhino Shield Missouri about things like pricing, financing, durability issues, and more, there's still a few questions that come up much more often than others. We never get tired of answering all our customers' queries about Rhino Shield ceramic coating and all the great benefits it offers homeowners, but nonetheless we thought it'd be helpful to highlight some of the most common questions that we face:

    • Can Rhino Shield be applied to wood, brick, and vinyl? The fact that Rhino Shield can be applied to virtually any surface is one of the reasons the product is so competitive in the exterior building coatings market. Rhino Shield can be applied to stucco, wood, brick, block, vinyl and metal.
    • Why should I choose Rhino Shield over traditional paint? Conventional painted exterior surfaces have to be recoated every 3-5 years, whereas Rhino Shield comes with a 25 year warranty. Additionally, traditional paint applications every 5 years use much more energy than the application of the Rhino Shield Ceramic Coating every 25 years.
    • What does Rhino Shield look like after the final application, and it dries? Once dry, Rhino Shield has a smooth latex paint-like finish, but is much thicker than latex paint.

So there you have it, our three most common questions. If you've been wondering about any of these issues before, now you've got an answer! If you need more clarification, though, don't hesitate at all to call our Rhino Shield Missouri offices today at 877.257.4466.

When shopping for a product to protect your home, it's easy to see that Rhino Shield is the obvious choice! Our ceramic coating has so many benefits that traditional paint just can't match. One of the best features of Rhino Shield is that it is windproof and waterproof.

Rhino Shield ceramic coating passes the Miami-Dade wind driven rain standard, an important test for a product that is used in varied climates all over the country, including many coastal towns. Our product is rated to withstand 98 mile per hour wind and driven rain.

Here's an example of just how strong our ceramic coating is:

The surviving water-front homes that had been treated with Rhino Shield prior to Hurricane Ivan in 2004 in Okaloosa County, Florida were subjected to field tests after withstanding 126 mile per hour rains. Even after enduring this extreme test of durability, the homes were tested with a moisture meter, and no moisture penetration was found!

Fortunately, here in Missouri we're not likely to get a hurricane any time soon, but the threat of extreme weather, like hard rain storms, wind and floods, is always a possibility.  Do all you can to protect your home by choosing Rhino Shield Exterior Ceramic Paint Coating.

When you choose Rhino Shield to protect your home, we don't just show up and slap on a coat of house paint. Before applying our ultra-durable Rhino Shield Ceramic Coating, we do the preparation and repairs necessary to ensure that your "Ultimate Paint Job" will last for years to come.

One very important part of the Rhino Shield process is priming. We apply a solid coat of Rhino Shield Adhesive Primer Sealer, which acts as a bonding agent, so the finish coat will stay on your home without cracking or peeling.

Up until the late 1970's, paints routinely contained lead-based chemicals, which acted as an adhesive, holding paint onto a surface. Fortunately, those dangerous, old paints are off the market now, but without the lead-based bonding agents, today's paints absolutely require the use of specialized primers in order to allow the paint to bond to the substrate.

If you look at a can of conventional paint these days, one of the first things you will see is a warning that the product is not guaranteed to work without two coats of primer underneath. Unfortunately, many painters will merely apply one thick coat of primer, resulting in a short-lived, low-quality paint job.

At Rhino Shield, we fulfill our promise of a high-quality, long-lasting product by applying a special waterproofing primer to all surfaces of your home or business, protecting against bleed-through and creating a sticky, adhesive surface that acts as a bonding agent for the topcoat.

Did you know that Rhino Shield is the most salt-tolerant coating available on the market today?  This benefit is especially vital for folks living in coastal areas but is just as handy for individuals who live in particularly cold climates as the material's ceramic consistency is particularly resistant to all the elements.  Standard house paint has a tendency to erode over time from salt's abrasive properties and can swell and bloat when exposed to pounding rains for extended periods of time.  But Rhino Shield's durable composition can resist all these conditions and more!

Visit Rhino Shield today to learn more about how you can benefit from this remarkable ceramic coating and never have to paint again!

Some people love the task of picking out an exterior color for their home while others find it to be a chore--one of the most overwhelming decisions to make when it comes to home design, to be exact.  While the goal is always to choose a color that retains character and uniqueness, you want to ensure that that color is still going to blend in well with the neighborhood.  Hot pink maybe your favorite color, the whole block doesn’t need to know!

Take a look at Freshome’s list of 5 things to consider when choosing an exterior house paint color. Then contact Rhino Shield to learn more about our expansive selection of exterior ceramic-based paints.

1) Let your geography be your guideWhere is your home located?  Before you get your heart set on an exterior color, observe the color palette of the geographic area for which you live.  Straying too far away will make your house stand out, and not for the better.

2) Adhere to the architectural time period of your area:  In historic neighborhoods the colors have been predetermined and should be adhered to as close as possible.  Similarly, for newer modern homes and older Victorian homes, the architectural style and time period will also help you define exterior colors to choose from.  historical home with Rhino Shield

3) Walk through your neighborhoodGet a feel for what the homes in your neighborhood are like.  Depending on your rural or urban setting, your neighborhood has a big affect on your home’s exterior.  Take a look at others’ colors palettes, trim colors and accent features.

4) Don’t forget your roofYour home accents, colors with Rhino Shieldroof color and material needs to be considered with the exterior color.  Choose your overall field color of your home and then choose a roof color that compliments it.  Darker house colors may choose a contrasting lighter roof and vice versa.

5) Get inspirationBy perusing magazine pages, websites and other homes in the neighborhood, you’ll find a good bit of inspiration.  Once you’ve decided on a color palette ask the paint store for smaller samples to bring home and try out on a small section of your exterior.  Let dry 24 hours and see if you like it!

Over the past year, we’ve discussed our signature ceramic coating in depth and the fact that it can be applied easily to a number of home surfaces.  But one of the most popular of those surfaces that we haven’t explored yet is stucco.  Because of our thorough application process and the superior primer that we use, Rhino Shield bonds to the substrate of stucco remarkably well.  This is largely in part due to the adhesive primer sealer and the fact that it can penetrate up to six layers of paint.  In fact, Rhino Shield also thwarts the development of mold, fungus and mildew on your stucco.

Rhino Shield’s ceramic coating is also ideal for stucco because it securely bridges small superficial cracks on exterior surfaces. For more information on how Rhino Shield can help give your stucco home the ultimate paint job, give us a call today at 877-257-4466.

Jason Murer, a journalists specializing in the investigation of various cutting edge "green" products recently wrote an article called, "A Cheaper Way to Conserve energy: Ceramic Additives for Paint." Below are some highlights that touch on just a handful of the benefits he explored. Looks like folks are beginning to catch on to a concept Rhino Shield has been incorporating into their services for quite some time now!

Energy saving is not only great for the environment but also for the pocket book. We're all familiar with the typical insulation you put in your attic or walls or investing in costly energy saving systems like radiant heat systems or solar panels. I recently came across a new type of insulation that takes state-of-the-art energy savings to a new level but keeps the costs much lower than any other type of energy saving material. It's called insulating ceramic paint.

This kind of paint is a highly energy efficient for insulating interior or exterior surfaces. However unlike typical house paint coming in colors, this paint is meant to be added to traditional paint—giving people many color options.

Additional benefits to this kind of additive are:

* High Impact Resistance.
* Resistant to atmospheric pollution.
* Non-toxic & environmentally friendly.
* Highly scrubable on all surfaces.
* Resistant to UV degradation.
* Mildew resistant.
* Rapid drying for quick re-coating.
* Easy cleanup with soap and water.
* Dampens sound.
* Prevents condensation.
* Non-yellowing.
* Highly resistant to salt spray & air pollution.
* Contains safe yet effective Algaecides and mildewcides.
* Chemical and alkali resistant, chemical, high impact resistance to chipping.

Much like the rest of the country, the city of St. Louis has gotten hit with some of the worst winter weather ever on record. The heavy amounts of snow and ice are truly devastating.

What many people don't necessarily think about is how damaging all of this winter weather can be to the exterior of your house. The amounts of snow that pile up against the side of your house as well as the icicles that may be hanging down from your gutters can actually be slowly deteriorating the ceramic coating or paint you have on outside of your home. Not only is the winter weather an issue, but the storms and possible hurricane-like weather some areas receive must have durable and long-lasting coating in order to withstand that type of weather.

Protect your house from all weather elements with Rhino Shield. It's waterproof!

Rain Damage

That is why investing in a ceramic coating that is waterproof can be so important in many regions of the country, especially where our Rhino Shield product is available.

Rhino Shield passed the Miami-Dade wind driven rain standard, which means that our ceramic coating can withstand Hurricane force winds of up to 126 mph once the test was conducted on a number of houses in Okaloosa County in Florida that were hit by Hurricane Ivan.

So if protecting your home from water damage is something of importance to you depending on where you live in the country, applying a coat of Rhino Shield to the exterior of your home can be the difference-maker when bad weather hits your area, no matter what the season.

You can find out more information about the many benefits of Rhino Shield by contacting us at 877-257-4466.
